Prolonged catheter use and infection in regional anesthesia: A retrospective registry analysis

Bomberg H, et al. - Researchers herein evaluated the time-dependence of catheter-related infection risk up to 15 days. They observed infection risk in catheter use increased over time, especially after four days. It was recommended that infected catheters be removed as soon as practical.
