van der Ploeg JM, et al. - The objectives of this study were to compare effectiveness and safety of prolapse surgery with and without incontinence surgery. It was concluded that the vaginal prolapse repair with the mid-urethral sling (MUS) decreased the risk of postoperative stress urinary incontinence (POSUI) in women with preoperative SUI symptoms or occult stress urinary incontinence (SUI), but serious adverse events were more frequent.
