Nguyen KA, et al. - This study was conducted to assess the functional improvement of the outcomes of subjects who underwent surgical management for tongue cancer at varying periods following surgery. Functional benefits of speech and deglutition were offered by reconstruction of hemiglossectomy defects with a radial forearm free flap. This, in turn, demonstrated progressive improvement when 1- and 6-month post-surgical assessments were compared.
