Progression of diabetic retinopathy severity after treatment with dexamethasone implant: A 24-month cohort study - The 'DR-Pro-DEX Study'
Acta Diabetologica Mar 07, 2018
Iglicki M, et al. - The purpose of this trial was to investigate the long-term effect of intravitreal dexamethasone implant (DEX) on the severity and progression of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR). DEX implant exhibited the potential to delay progression of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) development as well as cause a possible improvement in the DR severity over 24 months. Data suggested that an improved comprehension of the effects of corticosteroids would assist in guiding its use in the treatment pathway of DR.
