Prognostic value of vasodilator stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging: A multicenter study with 48,000 patient-years of follow-up
JAMA Feb 13, 2019
Heitner JF, et al. - Researchers analyzed 9151 individuals to estimate the association of stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) with patient mortality. Using multivariable analysis, they noted an improvement in the prediction of mortality in 2 different risk models after the addition of stress CMR. After adjustment for patient age, sex, and cardiac risk factors, they observed a strong relationship between an unusual stress CMR and mortality in all candidates, along with subjects with and without a history of coronary artery disease (CAD), and patients with normal and abnormal left ventricular ejection fraction.
