Prognostic value of sLOX-1 level in acute coronary syndromes based on thrombolysis in myocardial infarction risk score and clinical outcome
The Journal of Emergency Medicine Jul 26, 2018
Mashayekhi S, et al. - In this prospective cross-sectional study, researchers examined if soluble lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (sLOX-1) has any prognostic value via its correlation with Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk score and its possible link to clinical outcomes in two major spectrums of acute coronary syndromes (ACSs). They selected 320 patients who had diagnostic coronary angiography (within 24 hours of coronary angiography). Findings suggest that, in patients with ACS, circulating sLOX-1 could be used as a biomarker to forecast major adverse cardiac events, and might be having clinical value for triaging and managing these patients.
