Prognostic value of serum phosphate level in adult patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest
Resuscitation Apr 30, 2018
Jung YH, et al. - Considering the previous studies suggesting the relationship between phosphate level and the severity of ischaemic injury, researchers investigated the prognostic value of phosphate level after the restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in adult cardiac arrest patients. They noted an independent association of a higher phosphate level after ROSC with poor outcome at hospital discharge in these patients. However, they recommended using phosphate level in combination with other prognostic indicators given its modest prognostic performance.
