Prognostic value of serum CA19-9 and perioperative CA-125 levels in ovarian clear cell carcinoma
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Jul 10, 2018
Zhu J, et al. - 9 (CA19-9) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA-125) levels postoperatively after initial debulking for ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC). A retrospective review of a total of 130 patients with OCCC who were consecutively treated by cytoreduction at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center was performed. For recurrence and survival, an elevated level of postoperative CA-125 level was an independent risk factor. In patients with normal postoperative CA-125 levels, elevated postoperative CA19-9 was noted to be an independent risk factor for both recurrence-free (RFS) and overall survival (OS) rates. Thereby indicating a great clinical value of combining postoperative CA19-9 and CA-125 for prognosis in patients with OCCC after initial debulking.
