Prognostic value of right ventricular longitudinal strain in patients with pulmonary hypertension: A systematic review and meta-analysis
European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging Sep 07, 2018
Hulshof HG, et al. - Considering the high morbidity and mortality seen with pulmonary hypertension (PH) and the poor predictive value of traditional functional echocardiographic measures, researchers assessed the independent predictive value of right ventricular longitudinal strain (RVLS) for PH-related events and all-cause mortality via a systematic review and meta-analysis. Outcomes support the independent prognostic value of RVLS for a combined endpoint and all-cause mortality in patients with PH. RVLS may be able to optimize current prognostic models for clinical events or mortality in patients with PH.
