Prognostic value of pathological lymph node status and primary tumour regression grading following neoadjuvant chemotherapy – Results from the MRC OE02 oesophageal cancer trial
Histopathology Feb 28, 2018
Davarzani N, et al. - The prognostic value of tumor regression grade (TRG) with related pathologic factors in esophageal cancer (OC) patients enrolled in the Medical Research Council OE02 trial was determined. Independent of lymph node (LN) status, post-neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) was shown to be the most significant prognostic factor. It was also determined that the potential clinical implications, such as adjuvant treatment or intensified follow-up, reinforced the importance of LN dissection for staging and prognostication.
