Prognostic value of nocturnal blood pressure dipping on cardiovascular outcomes in Chinese patients with hypertension in primary care
The Journal of Clinical Hypertension Jun 21, 2021
Lo L, Hung SWS, Chan SSW, et al. - In this first ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) prognosis study on cardiovascular (CV) outcomes in Hong Kong, researchers intended to determine the prognostic significance of nocturnal blood pressure dipping on CV outcomes in a retrospective cohort comprising Chinese patients with hypertension. Participants were 1199 patients in total, undergoing ABPM between January 2012 and December 2014. Findings revealed that in these participants with hypertension, an adverse cardiovascular prognosis was conferred by nocturnal blood pressure non-dipping and to a greater extent by reverse dipping.
