Prognostic value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio in lung metastasectomy for colorectal cancer
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Dec 06, 2018
Renaud S, et al. - Researchers investigated the role of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in lung metastasectomy for colorectal cancer via retrospectively reviewing data from 574 patients who underwent the procedure in 3 departments of thoracic surgery from 2004 to 2014. On both overall survival (OS) and the time to pulmonary recurrence (TTPR), NLR ≤4.05 had an independent favorable prognostic effect. They identified significant correlations between NLR >4.05 and KRAS and BRAF mutations. NLR is thus identified as a simple and powerful predictor of outcomes in these patients.
