Engbers EM, et al. - The prognostic value of myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) was investigated as a part of this study, performed with a cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) SPECT camera in patients suspected of having coronary artery disease. Remarkable prognostic information was yielded, with low event rates in patients with normal myocardial perfusion. In patients with abnormal SPECT MPI, the extent of abnormality exhibited an independent correlation with an increased risk of events.
