Prognostic value of microRNAs in colorectal cancer: A meta-analysis
Cancer Management and Research May 10, 2018
Gao S, et al. - Given numerous studies have shown a close association of miRNA levels with the survival time of patients with colon, rectal, or colorectal cancer (CRC), researchers explored these associations among the three types of cancers via a meta-analysis of studies published in English that estimated the expression levels of miRNAs with survival curves in CRC. The correlation between miRNA expression and overall survival was assessed using pooled HRs with 95% CIs were. In general, a significant prognostic value of blood miR141 and tissue miR21, miR181a, miR224, and miR126 was demonstrated. They found that strong biomarkers of prognosis for CRC were blood miR141 and tissue miR224.
