Prognostic value of lymph node density for major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis
American Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery Nov 29, 2019
Terada H, et al. - Researchers examined the correlation between lymph node density (LND) and overall survival (OS) in major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis. Among 60 patients with major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis, 50 underwent neck dissection. They defined LND as the ratio of the number of positive lymph nodes to the total number of resected lymph nodes. They identified a significant correlation of an LND of ≥ 0.1 with a short OS. Results illustrated the predictive value of lymph node density for outcomes of major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis.
