Prognostic value of lymph node density for major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis
American Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery Oct 14, 2019
Terada H, et al. - In this investigation involving 60 patients, researchers ascertained if lymph node density (LND; defined as the ratio of the number of positive lymph nodes to the total number of resected lymph nodes) was associated with overall survival (OS) in major salivary gland carcinoma without clinical lymph node metastasis. According to findings, an LND of ≥ 0.1 was significantly linked to a short OS. Multivariate analysis with adjustment for pathological N classification and positive surgical margin demonstrated that an LND of ≥ 0.1 is an OS predictor.
