Nijenhuis VJ, et al. - In this current study, researchers evaluated the impacts of kidney function changes in relation to baseline kidney function on 2-year clinical outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation. They found that independent of baseline kidney function, transient acute kidney injury was transient and independently related to a higher mortality rate, whereas improved kidney function was sustained and associated with a lower mortality rate.
