Prognostic value of anatomical SYNTAX score and SYNTAX score II in veterans with left main and/or three-vessel coronary artery disease
The American Journal of Cardiology Apr 19, 2018
Misumida N, et al. - In this retrospective analysis, researchers intended to validate the prognostic values of anatomical SYNTAX score (SS1) and SYNTAX score II (SS2) in veteran patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for left main and/or three-vessel disease. Using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, prognostic values of SS1 and SS2 were compared. Researchers also compared the observed 4-year mortality estimated from Kaplan-Meier analysis and the predicted 4-year mortality derived from SS2. In patients with low and intermediate SS2, a good correlation was seen between observed and predicted 4-year mortality derived from SS2, but in the PCI cohort with high SS2, SS2 underestimated mortality.
