Prognostic value of AIB1 and EIF5A2 in intravesical recurrence after surgery for upper tract urothelial carcinoma
Cancer Management and Research Dec 21, 2018
Huang Y, et al. - Researchers assessed whether amplified in AIB1 and EIF5A2 expression could be predictive of postoperative intravesical recurrence for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) and whether it improves postoperative risk stratification and prediction of intravesical chemotherapy benefit. This study included 109 UTUC patients, examined for immunohistochemical expression of AIB1 and EIF5A2. Using univariate and multivariate analyses, a prognostic model was developed. High expression of AIB1 and EIF5A2 was significantly related to shortened bladder recurrence interval. According to findings, intravesical recurrence after radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) was independently predicted by high expression of AIB1 and EIF5A2, which might be predictive of which patients benefit from postoperative intravesical chemotherapy.
