Prognostic significance of tumor budding assessed in gastric carcinoma according to the criteria of the International Tumour Budding Consensus Conference
Histopathology Dec 11, 2019
Ulase D, et al. - In 456 consecutive, surgically treated gastric cancers (GC), tumor budding (TB) was scored as Bd0 (no buds), Bd1 (one to four buds), Bd2 (five to nine buds) or Bd3 (≥ 10 buds) in order to independently assess the utility and prognostic value of TB according to the International Tumour Budding Consensus Conference (ITBCC) criteria in a large and a well-characterised European GC cohort. Data explicated that the ITBCC criteria could be applied to GC. The data associated notably with the diverse clinicopathological features, such as patient outcome, and in general and GC in specific, could aid to standardize diagnostics and research into specific histological characteristics of malignant tumors.
