Prognostic significance of frequent premature ventricular complex early after implantation among patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillator
Journal of Electrocardiology Jun 13, 2018
Li Z, et al. - Researchers determined if long-term home monitoring of premature ventricular complex (PVC) burden early after ICD implantation has a prognostic significance. Data analysis of 416 patients with ICD was carried out, with ROC curve of continuous frequent PVC (CfPVC) percentages plotted, and the cumulative risks evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival and Cox regression. They found that the cut-off value for the CfPVC percentage was 40%, based on ROC curves. Findings demonstrated that, in ICD recipients, future VAEs, appropriate ATP, appropriate shocks, and cardiac death could be predicted by a long-term continuous burden of frequent PVC with CfPVC percentage ≥40%.
