Hifumi T, et al. - Herein, using a nationwide registry, researchers assessed the prognostic significance of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) in patients with heat stroke (HS). In this patient population, the presence of DIC was identified as an independent prognostic factor of hospital mortality and hematological dysfunction was a potential target for specific therapies in HS.
