Prognostic significance of 1p36 locus deletion in adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary glands
Virchows Archiv Apr 11, 2018
Steiner P, et al. - Experts comprehensively analyzed the prognostic value of 1p36 loss in patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) of the salivary glands using fluorescence in situ hybridization. Kaplan-Meier survival curves demonstrated statistically prominent associations between 1p36 deletion and decreased overall survival, disease-specific survival, recurrence-free interval, and recurrence-free survival. These factors were maintained in the multivariate analysis. Yielded data disclosed that 1p36 deletion possibly presented as an indicator of the unfavorable outcome of patients with salivary gland AdCC.
