Internal and Emergency Medicine | Mar 24, 2018
Galliazzo S, et al. - An inquiry was set up in order to examine the role of neutrophils to lymphocytes ratio (NLR) in subjects with acute pulmonary embolism (PE). Results displayed that high NLR had a weighted mean sensitivity of 77% and a weighted mean specificity of 74%. Owing to the relevant impact of NLR on short-term mortality after an acute PE, NLR was discovered to be a promising biomarker for better stratification of the patient prognosis.
