Prognostic role of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in patients with human papillomavirus–positive oropharyngeal cancer
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Jun 20, 2018
So YK, et al. - Experts gauged the prognostic effect of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for human papillomavirus-positive oropharyngeal cancer (HPV+ OPC). In patients with HPV+ OPC, an association of elevated pretreatment NLR with poor DFS was noted. A significant predictor for worse 5-year overall survival (OS) was advanced N classification and important prognosticators for worse 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) were both advanced N classification and high NLR; as seen on multivariate analysis.
