Prognostic role of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia in first-line treatment of advanced ovarian cancer: A pooled analysis of MITO2 and MITO7 trials
Gynecologic Oncology Jun 26, 2019
Daniele G, et al. - Via a pooled analysis of MITO2 and MITO7 trials, the researchers intended to determine if chemotherapy-induced neutropenia (CIN) has prognostic value in several cancer conditions. Although CIN has been associated with improved prognosis in cancer conditions especially in ovarian cancer, contrasting data had been seen. No significant prognostic value of CIN could be judged through two large MITO trials. Further, through meta-analyses with other published results, a lack of prognostic value of CIN in ovarian cancer was verified. This could derive from using AUC vs BSA for dosing carboplatin (a key drug in this setting).
