Prognostic impact of regression in patients with primary cutaneous melanoma >1 mm in thickness
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Nov 19, 2018
Ribero S, et al. - Researchers gauged whether and to what extent regression <75% is able to predict sentinel lymph node (SLNB) status and clinical outcome of patients with melanoma >1-mm thick. Patients with diagnoses given at 4 centers of the Italian Melanoma Intergroup were included. In primary cutaneous melanoma patients with Breslow thickness >1 mm regression was not an independent prognostic factor whereas it was related to a lower incidence of SLNB positivity. At multivariate analysis, regression and disease-free interval were not seen to be associated.
