Prognostic factors, survival, and treatment for intracranial WHO grade II chordoid meningiomas and clear-cell meningiomas

Zhang GJ., et al. - Give that chordoid meningioma (CM) and clear-cell meningioma (CCM) are rare World Health Organization (WHO) grade II meningioma subtypes, researchers evaluated favourable factors and appropriate therapeutic strategies for these lesions. Clinical data from 111 cases of grade II meningiomas, including 55 cases of CM and 56 cases of CCM, were retrospectively reviewed from January 2011 to December 2015. As per findings, researchers recommend achieving gross total resection (GTR) in grade II meningiomas. Worse outcomes were evident for patients with larger tumour sizes and/or surgical histories.
