Prognostic factors for survival among patients with primary bone sarcomas of small bones

Wang Z, et al. - Researchers assessed the prognostic determinants of bone sarcomas of the hands or feet. Findings suggested that younger age, localized stage, low grade, surgical treatment, and first primary tumour were favourable factors for prolonging survival among patients with primary bone sarcomas of the hands or feet. Nonetheless, among patients with different primary tumour locations and tumour subtypes, no significant differences were observed in OS and CSS. Furthermore, whether metastasis had occurred at the time of initial diagnosis was the most significant prognostic factor.
