Prognostic factors for success after irrigation and debridement with modular component exchange for infected total knee arthroplasty

Klare CM, et al. - The prognostic factors related to successful irrigation and debridement with modular component exchange (IDMCE) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in cases with prosthetic joint infection (PJI) were evaluated by the experts. Thirty five percent of the patients required reoperation after using IDMCE for PJI after TKA. Results suggested that increased preoperative erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) laboratory values and duration of symptoms >2 days were related to reoperation.
