Head & Neck May 30, 2019
Ramos-García P, et al. - Researchers appraised CTTN/cortactin alterations in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) for their prognostic significance. They included 18 studies (1633 patients) in this systematic review and meta-analysis. As per quantitative evaluation, CTTN/cortactin alterations were noted to strongly associated with with N+ status, higher T status, advanced clinical stage, high histological grade, and lower overall survival. The subgroups of Asian patients and pharyngolaryngeal squamous cell carcinomas showed the strongest association between CTTN/cortactin alterations and a worse outcome. These findings emphasize evaluating CTTN/cortactin alterations to predict HNSCC prognosis.
