Prognostic analysis of stage III gastric cancer after curative surgery according to the newest TNM classification
Clinical and Translational Oncology Jul 07, 2018
Wei J, et al. - Researchers assessed the prognostic factors seen in gastric cancer (GC) patients who were classified with stage III disease under the newest TNM classification. For this investigation, 279 subjects who underwent radical gastrectomy from January 2012 to December 2014 at their hospital and who were diagnosed with stage III GC according to the new 8th edition of the TNM classification were retrospectively enrolled. For overall survival in patients with stage III GC, neo-adjuvant chemotherapy, pathological T stage, and lymph node ratio were independent prognostic factors. The findings suggested that the neo-adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin and S-1 could be used for these subjects to improve their survival.
