Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Nov 16, 2017
Allegretti AS, et al. - Among patients with cirrhosis and AKI who initiate RRT, authors performed a comparison of outcomes between those diagnosed with hepatorenal syndrome and acute tubular necrosis, stratifying by liver transplant listing status. Findings revealed that in patients with cirrhosis who required RRT, cause of AKI was not markedly associated with mortality. Among those not listed for liver transplant, extremely high mortality rates were observed in patients both with hepatorenal syndrome and acute tubular necrosis.
