Tang B, et al. - Researchers investigated the impact of morphological type on the prognosis of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients who underwent myectomy. In this study, better clinical outcomes were observed among patients with hypertrophy limited to the basal septum (these represented a special clinical subtype of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), while those with diffuse hypertrophy of the ventricular septum and free wall demonstrated lower survival after surgical myectomy.
