Prognosis assessment in metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors based on CT-texture analysis
European Journal of Radiology Jun 05, 2019
Ekerta K, et al. - Twenty-five gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) patients undergoing tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy were assessed for the prognostic ability of their CT-textural features. All patients received first-line therapy with imatinib and a different tyrosine kinase inhibitor post disease progression. KIT and PDGFR-mutations were registered. Ten variables significantly linked with disease progression were confirmed; single variables were significantly inferior to the combination of all variables. Correlation of CT features with the progression of the disease, progression-free survival, gene mutations, and treatment regimens reflected tumor homogeneity and tumor enhancement.
