Quist-Nelson J, et al. - In view of the observed neonatal benefit in uninfected women that do not deliver immediately after preterm prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM), researchers investigated if administration of progestogens in singleton pregnancies prolongs pregnancy after preterm PROM. They performed analysis for each mode of progestogen administration separately. Outcomes revealed that administering progestogen did not prolong pregnancy in singleton gestations with preterm PROM.
