Procedural and clinical performance of dual- vs single-catheter strategy for transradial coronary angiography: A meta-analysis of randomized trials
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Sep 03, 2019
Alushi B, Lauten A, Ndrepepa G, et al. - Researchers compared dual– vs single–catheter strategy for transradial coronary angiography, focusing on the procedural and clinical performance in this study-level meta-analysis of randomized trials. For the quantitative synthesis, a total of 2,062 patients, including 978 randomly assigned to dual-catheter and 1,084 to single-catheter strategy, in seven trials were available. As per the evidence gained in this study, the observed procedural performance of either dual- or single-catheter strategy for transradial coronary angiography was comparable. Patients treated with dual- vs single-catheter strategy had a lower risk for a crossover, but a higher risk for radial artery spasm.
