Probiotic therapy in couples with infertility: A systematic review
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Oct 30, 2020
Corbett GA, et al. - As the therapeutic potential of probiotic therapy remains an exciting opportunity in ART, researchers conducted a systematic review of MEDLINE (Pubmed), Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), EMBASE, Web of Science and the Cochrane database with the aim to summarise its evidence to date. They identified 882 relevant articles in the initial search. Of these, they reviewed 26 full manuscripts and included four eligible articles. Per findings, while male probiotic therapy appeared beneficial in sperm motility, conflicting evidence was generated on the efficacy of probiotic therapy for women undergoing assisted reproduction.
