Primary care spending in the commercially insured population

Reiff J, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the primary care spending among individuals younger than 65 years covered by employer-sponsored insurance from 2013 to 2017. Efforts to improve the significance of healthcare by allotting more resources to primary care have utilized the share of total healthcare spending assigned to primary care as a degree of success. As per a 2019 study, primary care represented 2% to 5% of total spending among Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries in 2015.
