Preventive effects of car safety seat use on clinical outcomes in infants and young children with road traffic injuries: A 7-year observational study

Park GJ, et al. - In view of the observation that road traffic injury (RTI) is one of the major mechanisms of injury leading to high disability and case-fatality in infants and children, researchers investigated the preventive effects of car safety seat use on clinical outcomes among infants and young children injured from RTI. They noted that the patients using car safety seats less frequently had intracranial injuries compared with the patients not using car safety seats. However, no significant difference in mortality between the two groups was noted.
