Han X, et al. - The authors ascertained if preventive antibiotics were effective in poststroke infection in subjects with acute stroke vs no prophylaxis. A notable reduction was displayed in the incidence of algorithm-defined infection due to preventive antibiotics in patients with acute stroke. However, it did not decrease the mortality or improve the proportion of good outcome.
