Dugoff L, et al. - A randomized controlled trial was carried out to figure out whether pessary use prevents preterm birth in singleton gestations with a short transvaginal ultrasound cervical length and without a prior spontaneous preterm birth. It was concluded that the cervical pessary utilization was not related to prevention of preterm birth in women with singleton gestations with a short transvaginal ultrasound cervical length and without a prior spontaneous preterm birth in this small underpowered randomized controlled trial.
