Prevalence of pubic hair grooming–related injuries and identification of high-risk individuals in the United States

JAMA Dermatology Aug 21, 2017

Truesdale MD, et al. – A determination was carried out of the demographic and behavioral risk factors associated with pubic hair grooming–related injuries. The intent was to characterize individuals with high risk of injury and to formulate recommendations for safe grooming practices. The findings displayed that grooming frequency and degree of grooming (ie, removing all pubic hair) served as independent risk factors for injury. The results could assist in identifying the injury–prone groomers, thereby leading to safer grooming practices.
