Prevalence of pain in COPD patients and associated factors: Report from a population-based study
The Clinical Journal of Pain Aug 15, 2018
de Miguel-Díez J, et al. - Spanish adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) were studied to assess the prevalence of chronic neck pain (CNP), chronic low back pain (CLBP), and migraine compared with non-COPD patients matched by age and sex. Researchers also investigated the predictors for each of these types of pains among COPD sufferers. COPD patients showed significantly higher prevalence of CNP, CLBP, and migraine in comparison with controls. Among patients with COPD, these types of pain were noted to be associated with age, sex, self-rated health, certain comorbidities including mental disorders, obesity, and using pain medication.
