Prevalence of pain in COPD patients and associated factors: Report from a population-based study
Clinical Journal of Pain Aug 21, 2018
de Miguel-Diez J, et al. - Among Spanish adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) vs non-COPD patients, researchers evaluated the prevalence of chronic neck pain (CNP), chronic low back pain (CLBP), and migraine; they also determined predictors for each of these types of pain among COPD sufferers. In this cross-sectional study, they performed data analysis using multivariable logistic models. They found a significantly higher prevalence of CNP, CLBP, and migraine among COPD patients vs controls. Findings revealed that age, sex, self-rated health, mental disorders, obesity, and using pain medication were factors associated with suffering these types of pain in patients with COPD.
