Prevalence of metabolic syndrome in children with moderate to severe psoriasis treated with TNF inhibitors in comparison to conventional agents

Al Mutairi N, et al. - The topic of exploration herein was the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among juvenile psoriasis patients in Kuwait. As per the results, psoriasis appeared to correlate with a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome in children. Lesser association with metabolic syndrome was attainable via 6 months of anti-TNF therapy. Findings revealed that triglyceridemia was less frequent in patients treated with TNF inhibitors.
