Ferguson SA, et al. - Given that low back pain (LBP) represents a common and costly problem throughout the United States, researchers sought to determine the prevalence and personal risk factors of low back health effects in nearly 2,000 workers in various regions of the country. The investigators found that LBP had the highest prevalence (25%) and lost time due to LBP had the lowest prevalence (10%). They also noted significant site or regional impact in prevalence rates for seeking medical care and lost time due to LBP.
