Prevalence of laryngeal cleft in pediatric patients with esophageal atresia
JAMA Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Jan 05, 2018
Londahl M, et al. - An examination was carried out with regard to the prevalence of laryngeal cleft among patients with esophageal atresia (EA)/tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). This study also encompassed the identification of associations between types of laryngeal cleft and EA/TEF as well as the factors linked with the timing of diagnosis for both conditions. A much greater prevalence of laryngeal cleft was illustrated among the pediatric patients with EA/TEF than the general cohort. Findings indicated that multidisciplinary esophageal and airway programs served as an ideal clinical setting for management of EA/TEF.
