JAMA Dermatology May 29, 2021

Jfri A, Nassim D, O’Brien E, et al. - Researchers conducted this systematic review and meta-regression analysis to estimate overall hidradenitis suppurativa/acne inversa (HS) prevalence. Data reported that the overall prevalence of HS was found to be 0.40%. Studies based on clinical samples showed a higher pooled prevalence of HS (1.7%) than population-based studies (0.3%). The outcomes of this systematic review and meta-regression analysis may help facilitate policy formulation, channeling funding and guiding principles for better disease diagnosis utilizing universal valid tools and management.
