Prevalence of germline mutations in the TP53 gene in patients with early-onset breast cancer in the Mexican population
BMC Cancer Feb 07, 2019
Gallardo-Alvarado LN, et al. - In a young Mexican population, authors assessed the prevalence of germline mutations in the TP53 gene in cases with early-onset breast cancer (BC). They recorded a high proportion of germline mutations in the TP53 gene among candidates diagnosed with BC at a younger age. These individuals had a family history that suggested Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS). Pointedly, they did not find these mutations or distinct pathological modifications in TP53 among the healthy control group.
